Currently have 2 kappas coming off a ss 350.
Want to change out the hu to likely a jvc kdr97.,Sony or Kenwood.(leaning to jvc due to visibility and feedback)
Question , to have sq at speed should I do lowers or lids.
Planning to replace pn350 with either a pn1000 or cerwin Vega.
Thanks , ken
I don't have lowers but have heard that unless lowers have their own amp channel they will be lost in the wind. I do have lids and they make a difference going down the road.
Thanks for the reply. Now is just the stock head.
Will swap out amp to a 4 channel if I add lowers just unsure if I’d get better results from 2 more speakers in front of me as opposed to 2 beside in the lids.dont mind losing the lowers storage not sure I’m ok losing bag space.however sq will win out.
Last year cruising to the rally it was essentially just noise at 75. With loss of bass it was like not even listening to same song.interesting change to the music when u lose the bass...I don’t like it!
I had 4 kappa's (fairing and lowers) on a B54 amp and it was plenty loud at any speed but was lacking in the mid range area, sold that bike and planning out a new system for new bike and it will deff have something in the bags or lids to handle the mid range.

Thank for the reply. No problem with kappas and weather with them in the lowers? They just seem in a more vulnerable location.
6x9 in the lids will give you more bass than any 6.5 in the lowers. Just saying......
What year bike? Boom box or HG head unit?
Thats the feedback Im looking for, just saying...
10 ultra with stock hu but soon to be replaced with either a jvc,Sony or Kenwood.leaning towards jvc
I had a kenwood in my last bike and liked the features but couldn't see the screen in bright sunlight. You will need a thumb control kit but they are not hard to install. The pn4.1000 is a great amp for the $$. The jvc should do you justice too.
