Default Amp Help Please

I just installed a PA rz2 1300d, bluetooth adapter and 2 6×9s in my bag lids on a 2007 Heritage. When I run the remote from the accessories fuse the speakers pop when I tap the brakes. Every few pops the amp restarts. Next I tried running from the instrument fuse. No popping but switch has to be in the ignition position to turn on the amp. I was willing to live with this but then when I took it out for a test ride the amp randomly restarted about 2 minutes into the ride. For about another 10 minutes or so it played with no issue (yet). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

First check all connectors and wiring from amp to the battery. 8 ga. wire harness from amp to battery? inline fuse or just the 2-20amp fuses in the amp? Check to see if they have a tight fit too. Be sure there is no loose connections (battery post, amp plug ect). Next change the remote feed to the cigarette lighter power side using a piggyback spade connector. This will eliminate power surges or spikes that may occur going through switches or fuse lines. Crimp the piggyback spade to the remote wire and plug it into the lighter. Then plug the hot side of the lighter into the piggyback connector. This power source is direct with no surges and that should eliminate the amp from restarting.

Inline fuse about 2 or 3 inches from battery. All connections good and tight. Where is the cigarette lighter connection? Do I have one on a softail? Thanks

According to a table I found online for a 20 amp line the recommended wire size was 12 ga. Perhaps this is where I've gone wrong. Would the 12 ga power and ground be deficient enough to cause the popping through the speakers and the random rebooting of the amp? Also for those who run amps in the bags what quick disconnect are you guys using that will accept 8ga wire. The best thing I could find at the parts store was trailer connectors which I'm pretty sure were also 12 ga. My next move is to bump the power and ground up to 8ga but I sure would hate to have to pull this stuff apart every time I need to take the left saddlebag off the bike.

Here is a quick disconnect that you can use.

Use these for your speakers

Who carries that power/ground disconnect? That definitely looks beefier than anything they had at Autozone.

For some reason I was thinking you had an super glide classic. My bad. Regardless, there is a bad connection somewhere that is causing your amp to turn off and on. Same with the poping sound when you hit the brake. Try hooking up a different speaker to if it pops when turning on and not running. It could just be a speaker. Also try wiggling every wire on the audio system while the radio is on to see if any poping or shutting off occurs. Somewhere in the install something is not making a good connection. Its just a matter of finding it.
