Both amps set up with hp filters front at 80 rear at 60. Gains just a tad off max at 3/4 volume.

So far the tally is:
#1 amp= 6 votes
#2 amp = 3 votes

ive ran the same voltage out of two amps and had to either raise or lower the HPF because of the sound each different amp produces. When you say gains a tad off max, was that max on the dial, VAC setting, or DDM? So you might be able to get better sound out of one or another amp.

You are right on the different settings. I tuned both these the old fashion way by ear. I have used a digital volt meter in the past but found that doing it by ear was better as you know using a volt meter on different amp/speaker set ups solely can let some left on the table.
