I have a 2011 Street Glide, Looking to upgrade my audio system. Read about 300 different posts from the gurus and came up with this system:
1. Sound stream SS-PN4.1000D AMP
2. Infinity Kappa 62.IX front fearing speakers
3. Rockford Fosgate TMS69BL9813 6 x 9 rear speaker kit
Questions:
1. what gauge wiring do I need for my amp - 4 or 8?
2. Do I need to purchase RCA plugs?
3. What do I need to purchase so I can hook up rear speakers out of the head unit? (using stock head unit)
Can you please let me know if I need anything else to complete this upgrade.
Thanks for your help.

First I'm not a guru but I do know about the rf rear speaker setup. It will come with the necessary wiring to hook up the rear speakers including the quick connects for taking off your bags. Are you sold on the kappas? The reason I ask is the db wdx 6 motos are as about as good as you get for front coax speakers. Amp wiring is good with this:
Hi Gypsye, I decided to use the KAPPAs because I think it is going to be a good match with the RF6 x 9 . I can blend the brightness of the KAPPAs to the RF 6 x 9s with the fader. Plus the the DB WDX 6 motos are a little pricey for me. Thanks for the info on the amp wiring. I was going to use 10 guage but i think the 8 gauge you recommended is much better. Thanks again. If I have any issues, I'll let you know.
Anyone else have any recommendations, please feel free to chime in.
Hold on a second. Keeping the stock headunit and the SS PN4.1000d what are you going to use for media? With the Amp wrecking havoc on your FM and no usb input. That leaves the CD and the audio input.

Fireball has a point. That amp will cause loss of fm. You can get a cheap mp3 player and download what music you want and go that route or switch the amp and get a tm400x4ad as it will not effect your fm. It is not as powerful as the ss but with the kappas and the rf tms 69's that come with that rear kit, you will have plenty of power at 100x4 as the tm amp is very loud and under rated on power. That tm amp is a bit more $$ but most of us will change speakers out but keep the same amp as it is your biggest cost.
If you stay with the ss amp you can use the high input harness and wont need any high to low converters or rca cables. Same with the RF amp.

Aux plug in front of radio to phone and he can listen to Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn Radio or whatever else he wants to from his phone. He could also buy a Bluetooth module that plugs into Aux port and buetooth from phone to radio.

That is a viable option as some of my friends do that until the phone runs out of juice. Ive been on day rides where guys are having to recharge their phones in the middle of a ride not having tunes until they have power to the phone. I'm old but prefer to have some tunes at any/all times and not wait for my phone to charge. Just my penny's worth. Then again as I stated, I'm not a guru as others will chime in.

Get one of these and you won't have to worry about phone charge. I wired mine to the cigarette lighter. Works like a charm!
