Default Audio Newbie Needs Guidance

Hello folks,

Im a newbie to the audio piece of this world so looking for some advice. Ive tried to research a bit myself and have leaned a little, but not enough to know right/wrong. I'd would feel better soliciting some input from the group here.

Im not looking to be the loudest or even have the best quality, just some extra oomph at highway speeds.

I already have:

- Pioneer deck, 50x4w (will gwt the model# tomorrow)
- Alpine kt445u 45x4 class d amp
- Pioneer TS-576M 5.25" 3-Way Speakers in the fairing
- 6x9 lower fairings (on their way)

I have not yet bought the 6x9 speakers but was looking at the Pioneer TS-A6996R based on some reviews I read online. Does this combo make sense or am I just mashing together components that really don't belong together?

If this combo just doesn't make sense please feel free to correct me or give suggestions . As you can tell by the components and the prices of each I'm on a budget. Trying to stay under $75 for the 6x9s. Could probably scrounge togwther another $100 for anything I should change out.

So two questions foe the group:
1) are the 6x9s not a good fit for this little amp/deck/speaker setup?
2) should I swap out the amp or 6x9s for different pieces to make the setup more cohesive?

Any/all feedback welcome. Thank you.

Definitely swap out the amp for starters. Soundstream Pn4.1000d amp will push anything you decide to run with ease and have power left over for more. Can be had all day for under 150$ even around $100 if you shop around. Or even the Soundstream PN4.520d which is around $100. Would still be much better than you have. Not sure on the speakers so I will let others chime in on the 6x9. But keep in mind upgrading to 6.5" speakers in the fairing would be a huge improvement also.

First and foremost. What Bike? The 5.25 speakers and the Alpine amp are a definite non starter. As Proud stated. You want 6.5's in the fairing and a amp with much more power if you're thinking about running 6x9 speakers. So to answer both questions at the same time.

It's not the 6x9's that are an issue. It's the amp.

Thank you for the input so far, i appreciate it.

Bike is an 08 Electra glide to answer Gannicus's question. I'll shop around for those amps, some mounting rings for the 6.5s and speakers. Any suggestions on speakers?

Followup question based on your suggestions, would those amps fit inside the fairing? I tend to do a lot of distance rides and pretty much fill my saddlebags, so was hoping to keep the amp in the fairing if possible.

So based on Gannicus' recommendation and subsequent reading I'm going with the SS pn4.1000 amp. Next up is speakers. Im seen a lot of different suggestions, but was looking at these for the fairing (noting I need the adapter rings) and 6x9s in the lowers:

- Pioneer TS-A1686R A-Series 6.5" 350-Watt 4-Way Speakers
Amazon Amazon

- Pioneer TS-A6996R A-Series 6" X 9" 650W 5-Way Speakers
Amazon Amazon

They both came up on a few top 10 lists for car audio, but i know itll be different with the bike rolling down the road at speed. Wanted to ask if anyone has outright objections or feedback? Im open to all opinions. Trying to stay below $125 total for the 6.5s + 6x9s.

That's going to be a pretty big challenge.

As T eluded too huge challenge on scooter speaks for under $125. Speakers on a bike need to be 2x as loud as a car to hear them. You might be able to get some that will last for a while but eventually will go poof. So do it right the save the HA later replacing speakers and eventually spending even more.

^^^^^^This. If you spend cheap you get cheap results. I fully understand having a budget to work off of but if you hold off a bit and add a few bucks here n there you'll be better off in the long run.

Well i did dig up some extra couch cushion money, and selling some spare parta, so budget is a little higher. Any suggestions to trying to pull off the 6.5 and 6x9 speaker setup under $300?

I see a lot of comments about the polks and titan II's.
To your guyses points, Id rather do it right now than be replacing stuff a month from now when I'm not happy. Im not an audiophile by any means, just want to hear it at highway speeds, with moderate quality, without beaking the bank. Rarely am I parked and rocking out.

Gonna throw out a couple suggestions that might work not knowing what u listen to or riding style: db WDX6Motos, Euphoria EPC6, Pioneer Pro TS6900.

Great bang for the buck.
