I am thinking about amping for the future. I only plan on running fairing speakers now but the (2) 4 channel amps I am looking at when bridged, would be at or above the max power of the speakers I am looking at. (Normal operating at 100w - 300max)
Arc Moto 600/4 150x4 or 300x2b
Focal FDP Sport 175x4 or 500x2b
Does anyone know, or have they run only 2 channels off a 4 channel amp without bridiging it?
My third option is to just get the RF TM400X2ad or Cerwin Vega SRPM 700.2D and if I do add more speakers, get another amp.
But at the time of this writing I'm thinking the ARK Moto 600/4 and for speakers, Euphoria ES9 6Cs, as no one has ever tried them, or the DD AW6.5/AT28 combo.
Also on the DDs, do you have to buy a seperate crossover or do people just run a 4 channel amp? One output for each?
You can run the arc 600 with just 2 channels with no issues. Thats what I did with the DD combo your talking about. The amp has a built in crossover and you should also get the TXO crossover for the tweets. I later added the Rockford bag kit. If you plan on adding later you should plan for the future.
As stuntmeat said, plan for the future. Get your 4 channel amp and just run the front 2 channels for now. I would not bridge either of those amps to your speaks as that just may cause them to go poof with too much power.
Well, went to the DD dealer yesterday and found out I misunderstood him. He has the AW6.5s in stock not the AT28s. Said he could have them in a day. I said "really" I heard they were on back order. He called his supplyer and was told maybe July they might get them but don't bet on it so looks like no DDs for me.
Also saw a RF TM400x2ad
(200w x 2 @ 4 or 2 ohms) with a birth certificate saying 261w x 2. Yeee Haaaw, more power. awh awh awh awh

That TM 400x2ad is a beast but still only 2 channels. You will need 4 in the future
If your set on DD you could always use different tweeters. Tailwind I believe has recommended other tweeters from different manufacturers that are less expensive and match up well.

Yeah brother, I'm of the opinion that if ur going the component route to buy a damn solid tweet and worry less about matching the brand name to the woof. Lots of other tweet options out there.
