Default first time amp install

well here we are 2 years after buying the jl audio mhx-280 i am finally installing it but not without frustration. last august i purchased the aquatic a/v head unit (base model)
thinking the 288 watts would be plenty for my 4 polk mm651's. it satisfied me for awhile but now want to add the amp.
many of you will tell me that this amp isnt worth messing with due to lack of power and that may be true but i want to go the route most of you have already gone and
start small and make changes as my ears adjust. my problem right now is correctly wiring this unit up in between the head unit and speakers.
the manual is clear on what each wire is but it really doesn't instruct me on the how. to make up for the power deficiency i would be willing to run on only 2 channels being that the fading feature on a ultra is in my opinion useless anyways. being my first amp install i am somewhat perplexed here. i am not a complete idiot to this stuff but do need to be schooled a little here.
can someone like Gannicus, tailwind or ultranutz help me out here?
the bike has been down for a little more than a month due to othe mechanical issues which have all been taken care of. i am jonesin for the asphalt. anyones input would be greatly appreciated.
FYI I did have dragonfly add the additional pin connector sent to me so that the rear pod speakers will play when installing the head unit. below are the pics of the wires coming from each unit. thanks you guys.

Default

do i use the rca's coming out of the head unit (only have left rear input and right rear input)?
i have run a 4 wire 14 gauge from each rear pod to the front fairing colors are:red, black, white and green
amp will be installed above radio in front fairing(removed the sirrus and cb modules) to make more room.
also i do not understand the amp settings: input voltage(low or high) input sensitivity, filter frequency and filkter mode
