Default Looking for ideas for adjustability

Current Setup
2012 Street Glide
Aquatic AV Head Unit (the one with the color screen but no XM radio)
Hertz SV165.1s and ST35s in the fairing.
DD VO 6x9s in saddlebag lids
Micro 4v2 in the fairing.
I did the tuning with the SMD DD-1 and CC-1 with the cutoff frequency at 100hz.

I currently have the SV165.1s and the ST35s wired in parallel running off front two channels and the 6x9s running off the back two channels. With the sensitivity of the Hertz, the front section will melt my face off while the 6x9s are less sensitive and a little more quiet. Here are my questions:

1. How would I be able to adjust the ST-35s down a bit? Seems to me that as long as I have them in parallel with the 165s the only thing I can do is to back off the treble on the HU and would also effect the 165s.
2. Should I go with a six channel amp and run the horns off their own channels? Is there a six channel amp that fits in a SG fairing or would I need to relocate to a bag?
3. Should I back off on the gains of the front channels to try and balance out the 165s and 6x9s? If so, do y'all recommend using the DD-1 and stepping it down by 10dB at a time or just by ear?
4. The 6x9 cutoff is currently set at 100hz, I thought I had read somewhere on here that folks were running them in the 80hz range and they were performing well. I would like to have a little more mid-bass if these 6x9s can produce it. Where is everyone setting their crossovers for these 6x9s?
5. Possibly considering adding a 10(s) or 8(s) to the bags later on down the road, but I'll save that for a later question.

I am currently deployed, but I am putting projects together for when I return in a few months. Gotta have a distraction from the everyday routine. I am open to any and all questions/ideas. I have always found the wealth of knowledge and recommendations in this forum to be a great source of information and ideas and look forward meeting up with some of y'all one day. Thanks in advance.

The 2 ways to attack this imho is either a micro amp for the horns alone, or a dsp and tune your way there.

You can cross those vo about 80-90hz.
You can add a micro amp for the horns or use the current amp for 6.5 and horns and add a second amp for 6x9. Those vo can take more power than your giving them. Either way, you need to get those horns on their own amp channel to control.

As clearly stated by the gurus about, those horns need to be isolated or they are going to rip ur ears off.
Various solutions to consider but u really should determine where the potential finish line is before u start the mission. What will ur Speaks ultimately and what locations? If ur going to add Speaks inside the bags u need to factor that in before u get rolling.
A DSP will get u down the road for now but ultimately ur gonna need to address the amp situation after u determine the above.

Short term band aid 1
DSP
Parallel SVs on Channel 1
Parallel Horns on Channel 2 and tune the hell out of them.
VOs on 3&4
The good news about this band aid is the the DSP will remain in ur setup as u head to the finish line

Short Term Band Aid 2
Micro amp with gains
SVs on 1 & 2
VOs on 3 & 4
Horns on Micro
If u add bag speaks, the micro may or may not stay in ur setup but u will need another amp for such bag Speaks or 2 different amps that match ur setup.

Band Aid 3
JL 600/6 to power ur current setup
SV on 1& 2
Horns on 3&4
VOs on 5 & 6
Additional amp for bag speakers

Band Aid 4 thru 20
????

2 cents

You can easily fit a micro in your fairing for horns. I have a SD 800.4, PSM DSP and a SD 250 just for horn in my batwing.

These are exactly the type of recommendations I was looking for. The key being to get the horns on their own channels. I like the idea of a six channel amp to run the current setup and then I could use my Micro 4v2 (bridged) if I ever added 8s or 10s in the bags. BUT, y'all got me seriously thinking about going with a Micro 2v2 for the VOs and really bringing those alive, using the Micro 4v2 for the 165s and horns, and then deal with the additional speaks in the bags later on down the road. It truly is a never ending project and I am definitely itching to get back under the fairing and making some changes.

A DSP could be definitely be in the works, I need a little while to study up on that piece before jumping in. I got a few months left before I get back Stateside, but will definitely be cruising this forum in the mean time.
