Covering electronics
I went with the plastic cutting board and some automotive weather stripping from Lowes for a total cost of $11. I had a pretty good gap at the top corners like a lot of people get from an aftermarket shield. The portion across the three screws at the top also dipped in at the screws and the stock gasket no longer sealed in the raised up parts. I ran the weather stripping across the top and around the sides down to the part where it curves around at the bottom. It sealed it up better and actually sounds a little better since I did it. The mark on the cutting board is the adhesive from the HushMat. Here are a few pics with some of the screws out/lose to get a better idea of what I'm talking about. The last pic is with it all buttoned up.
