Wow, I haven't been on here in almost 2 years !!!
I have a 2003 FLHTC and the Sony stereo is about to die, the volume **** is ions. I have NO IDEA what unit will match up with the factory wiring/plug like the Sony did. It's just got 2 speakers in the dash, none in the rear.
Only requirement besides plug-n-play is that it has blue tooth.
Yep, I found the Aquatic right after I posted this. I'll be getting the $300.00 job.
Changing to the Aquatic is no more difficult than putting in another Sony.
I installed the Sony 13 years ago. I'm hoping it used the Harley factory mount, I don't remember, and this Aquatic uses the factory mount. I hope the Sony used the factory mount, guess I'll find out as I'm about to order the unit today.
The Aquatics arrived today and installed it in an hour total. Easy as you;d be. Easier than the Hogtunes install years ago and sounds good.
Thanks for the heads up.
Well, it sounded good, UNTIL I went out for a ride today. If I turn it up past 27 or so it sounds terrible, breaking up and fading in and out with both fm and bluetooth. Not a happy camper, I'll go do some research and see what I can find. I read of a few others having this problem but I didn't read their entire posts.
Is there an amp in the system? What EQ options does the stereo have? Sounds like you may need to just tweak some settings? Have you tried turning the bass way down on the stereo? In my experience trying to get any bass sound out of inexpensive speakers make them sound similar to how your describing.
