I've read the AMP Gains thread and searched but still can't really find the answer to my question. I'm installing the Kappa 62IX speakers after blowing my 62.11s. So now I'm using a meter to actually set my amp vs doing it by ear.
I have a CV B54 amp, the speakers are 2.7ohms, have a 75w RMS and a 225W peak. Using the chart in the AMP gain thread I'm not sure if I use the 75w or somewhere between the 75w RMS and the 225W max? Although the AMP is 2ohms I assume I'll use the 3ohms column of the chart?
While I'm asking......I know I set the crossover to HP but is there an official way to set the frequency dial or do you just eyeball it? The range is 40hz to 400hz. What should it be set to?
Crossover should be set around 80-90. All you can do is eyeball it. Set gains at 125-150 watts.
Regardless of whether you set it with a meter or not you still have to fine tune it by ear.
