I know FLYINGBROKE is running these. Wondering if anyone else or FB can give me some info on the fit and finish of these lowers. My SBD lids required a lot of prep work. Also curious what amps are being used and how much power I'd need currently running M770's as the rears with JL ZR650 CSI's in the fairing and a BT4180. Suggestions on wiring as front or rear? Would I need a second amp?
I had a set and the finish wasn't bad at all. We've done one bike that already had them installed and they looked great as far as finish but they are big and clunky looking, especially on a bike that is mostly stock (bags, wheel, etc.). You for sure need another amp, I normally send 200w to each JL 8.8.
I'm not sure if it's an optical illusion or not, but Dirty Birds Loud Lowers don't look as clunky to me. It might be the extended lip on top... they also have a tweeter pod for them if you don't choose to go with the 880. I'm using a VooDoo tour pak with 880s and pushing 200 to each like Haze said in his post.
I have a set that's in process. Out of the box they look fine. I mocked them up and set up the locks. Everything works as it should. If you are real particular, you'll want to do a fill on a recess in the mold on the latch side of the lid. Other than that, alls good. I had no adjustments to do at all. Attached the hinge plates and latch, everything lined up. I was expecting a little tweaking to get it fit, but none needed.
Edit: I plan on 200w plus also

Like Dsm said next to zero prep work I have early released set and I did reinforce studs fiberglass.
i think from front of bike not alot of difference in bike look it's from the back they are obvious less so if you paint grills.
I ran them with 150 for long time now 250ish
Worth mentioning that the professional installers here do not like jl880 so you can order them for eights.Myself I like them .
