Ive looked around on some of the threads and I got some ideas to upgrade my system. But I figured I would see if someone had some input to my current setup.
Head unit- Austic AV AQ-MP-5BT-H
Amp- Rockford Fosgate PBR300x4
Fairing -Rockford Fosgate P165-SE
Lowers-Rockford Fosgate R165-3
I also have a second amp just sitting around Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2
Im aware this isnt a great setup but thats what the bike came set up with. I dont mind spending money on quality equipment.
I would like like to stay with the 4 speakers and 2 tweeters and possibly keep my current amps.
You really should consider replacing those amps. They run hot and dont have a very good sound quality. If you search this forum for budget setup you can find a good starting point. The experienced guys here can help you better if you share your budget, music preferences and riding habits. That allows them to suggest amps and speakers that best fit your needs.
Hey Matt, welcome aboard. You live in the same town as a couple of our regulars here. Listen to lots of stuff before you spend your hard earned cash. Check in with Babyboy and Motomike, both good guys that are willing to help out the new guys. I'll let them both know I mentioned them so they are not blind sided.
And to reference your original questions, in a nut shell, start over buddy. TRUST me if there was ever a glimmer of hope out of the PBR stuff, I would have found what worked, but as referenced above, just not good stuff, period. If you are willing to do some homework and spend a little money, this place will have you all set up. One of our common goals here is best bang for the buck.
Kris
EDIT: I think that's actually a decent head unit, but of course, there's always better....

Welcome to the audio forum.
I am also in Lockport.
Another member MotoMike is also in the area.
If you want to stop by or meet up we can talk about your upgrade you are looking to do on your sled shoot me a PM and we can see if our schedules conflict or not.
Matt
It was a pleasure having you by this afternoon. If you have any questions or comments about what we discussed about your upgrade feel free to share them here on The forum and get second and third opinions but you will be happy with the first step of your upgrade.
Its not often you meet people like Rob now a days. Invited me over and went over exactly what I was looking for in my system. For other people that may be interested this is what we came up with
Im curious to see how you like it. Im in the process of figuring out mine. Ill also be running 4 pro audio speakers and 1 pair of horns. Currently debating keeping my arc moto and adding a micro amp or switching out to that JL
