After blowing the 3rd set of 5x7 boom stage 2 rear speakers, my buddy had his 2018 cvo street glide back in the shop for warranty replacement. The dealer updated the HU with the latest update stating that update should keep from blowing anymore rear speakers. The problem now is he has nearly no bass out of the rears. Apparently HD has flattened out the eq curve to keep from blowing the rears with this latest update.
What does that mean for us aftermarket guys running a LL? You will have to adjust the LL to try to gain more bass out of the HU if you update the system. I would suggest NOT updating to the new software if running aftermarket with LL.
According to my buddy, this speaker blowing has been a nightmare (as we already knew) and HD should have it solved on the 2019 models. (sure they will). My guess is they will flatten out the signal in the bin file while running at speed and keep the large eq curve while in acc mode to keep it sounding good while trying to sell it on the show room floor.
Food for thought.....
