2018 CVO Road Glide, just under 9000 miles and have already blown both saddlebag speakers. Stock system and I don't crank it. Covered under warranty, more just the hassle as I live 40 miles from dealer. Anyone had this issue? Thinking after warranty is up this year that if I need to replace I'll go aftermarket speakers. What have you guys used? Just looking for a simple replacement, don't want to mess with new amp etc.
I've had same problems. '17 CVOSG. I went through 5 right rear speakers and 4 left rears in the two yr warranty. Same issue every time... cone tears from edge. I have bass at neutral setting and treble plus 2. the dynamic sound setting (gets louder as you speed up) definitely caused problems. I shut that off and the most recent rear set lasted 9 months. But still eventually blew out. I have extended warranty and speakers are not covered. So I'm also looking for better replacement speakers with using stock amps and head unit. Haven't found any yet.
Knock on wood but I have had my 2019 cvo sg since Oct and I hammer that system constantly and no trouble yet, have a friend with a 2018 cvo and he has replaced two speakers so far. Sounds like my turn with be coming.
I had rear big speakers replaced twice on my 17 CVO street glide. Then on my 18 CVO Road Glide the bag speaker on one side was replaced twice, and once on the other side. I was told the end of summer 2018 the manufacture improved the speaker due to the numerous issues. So far I have not had a speaker fail on my 19 CVO road glide
I’ve never had one fail in my CVOs, but I do keep the fade towards the front and the bass at 3 from the bottom. I couldn’t really hear the rear speakers when the bike is at speed. More or less, unless you are just putting around, it seems those bag speakers are just providing noise for someone else. That sucks that they seem to blow easily.
