DSR1 and the RF Flash
That makes complete sense... usually. When the punch EQ is set lower, the signal is so flat, there is no depth at all. So adjusting it up helps. With high pass, it boosts mid bass and treble (which I have too much treble). I knocked the treble down on the boom radio and it seems to help. Another thing I did was started to play with the EQ on my iPhone. Setting the phone to different EQ’s I notice a big difference and it’s much much better. I listen to different types of music: hard rock, classic rock, older rap and country... so I can’t find that happy medium. So far “loudness, rock or RB” EQ on the phone seem to give me what I want. I thought maybe the dsr1 would do it all for me, but I don’t think it will.
Just need tk wait for a marine grade alternative replacement. I can’t justify the Sony unit without it being marine grade as I ride in all conditions.
Looking at the Rockford manual the EQ level adjusts only the high frequencies at a set value of 12.5 KHZ, it shouldn’t gain you any boost in the midrange at all, here is the manual specs. Attached above, midrange would be from say 100hz to 5000hz not 12500.
