I just completed a trade and got a set of speed by design 8 inch lids with horn. The speakers are McLaren and the 8 inch mid is 4ohms and the horn is 8 ohms. I will be running this off the rear channels of my hertz HDP 4 AMP. The specs are 150x4 at 4 ohms and 250x4 at 2 ohms or 500x2!at 4 ohms. How can I wire the speakers to get four ohms at the amp. I am running the horns parallel off of the mid as I only have one amp in the front channels are also running a maid and horn.
Which amp do you speak of ? If I get another small amp do I run all 4 horns off it? Thanks for the help. I will add a small amp as long as it will run all 4 horns. Really want a different speaker setup too. Not feeling these mclaren mids.
Have a look at Mosconi Pico. It's uber small, I don't think there is anything else that small, you need to get two to get 4 channel though. I use it's bigger brother, Mosconi D2 100.4 it's a very good sounding amp.

Depending on space requirements under the hood, the SD400.4d would work or the Focal Impulse 320 is really damn small. The NVX is also damn small but they have gotten expensive. For most folks that ride / tour the bag space is a top priority thus amp size will drive the decision in order to keep all amps in the fairing.
