Running Stock HU with BT Line Levels ARC Moto 600.4. Just put in the RF kit with the TMS69s and of course would like a little more mid bass punch.. Setting my HP filter at about 90hz, spec's have the speaker with frequency response down to 56hz, Meanwhile I've seen some praise for the punch of the DD VO's yet there spec frequency response starts at 100hz.
In short do you use the Mfg. spec for determining where to set HPF or is it just a lot of trial and error and fairing on and off, on and off, on and off, on and off......
Will the mid bass on the RF speaks imnprove as they get more play time?
Ditched my JL M770's chasing better midbass with 6x9's and right now I'd give the nod to them over my new 6x9's.
Easy to get caught up in the chase for bass and lack willingness to give up bag space, at least for now...

Do NOT use published specs, while they may serve as a guide each company specs their products differently. Some at 1w, others at RMS, others at peak so you never really know. I cant stress this enough when hunting for speakers.
Depending on how much power you have to send them, start at 80hz and try adjusting down and up and see what it sounds like. I had them and at between 125 and 200 watts 80 hz was very doable.

I'm not sure it would be possible to make 56hz audible outside with a 6x9. I think that falls in the too good to be true category.
Agreed,on the 56hz wishful thinking but wondering if dropping the high pass down around 70 would give me more kick or just bring on distortion earlier.... I got a lot of learning to do...

Totally agree with this, published specs often don't mean jack as I learned from my audio tuner yesterday.

They will blow up in a hurry at 70hz with any more than 100-125 Watts.
85-90+ will get u the best possible chance at the sound at speed u r wanting.
