If a guy was going to run 8s or 10s in the bags would he be able to get away with PRV 6.5s in the lids or would VO 6x9s be the better option? The system would include enough power for either and DSP.
Once you get bigger than a 8 in the bag, the bigger speakers would steal the air for the smaller speakers. You would have to seal off the mid-bass or sub.

If you really want bass out of your bags I wouldn't run either of those in your lids but the decision between the two will be made by what you are running inside the bags. 8's vs. 10's is a huge difference -- sound, power, location, air space, etc.

Agree... Its tough to beat a solid pair of 10" inside the bags
If you wanna go ***** deep in a rear stage, look into some of the 8" tourpak lids to compliment your bags
we did that install over a year ago. It sounded great at the time and still does if that sound is what you are looking for. No way I woulda put a 6x9 there though! With an 8, thats a different story - placement and cone area. Since then weve changed that bike up some but I dont think its ever going to be a question of 6.5 or 6x9. The question is what sound do you need from a certain location, or whats missing on the bike then fill that with the right item.
Okay so for me there is no coming back from the hole in my lids, but I heard Ganns bike, in particular, and I want to end up near there. I'd like to do it with closer to 6 speakers. When I make the next leap I want to try not to try and see my way through it.
I couldn't discern any problem with the 10s and 6x9s on his bike

unless you have some PRV 8s in there. Then your golden.
