Default Audio problems after handle bar install

Good evening. I recently installed 10” bars on my 17 SGS. It has the boom stage 2 with amp and tweeters. After the install I feel it’s not as loud as it once was. Each speaker and tweeter is working as well as the amp. Is there anything I could have messed up during the install? Dealer says he thinks it sounds like it should. You can’t hear any music at highway speeds. Thanks in advance for the help.

Someone is going to tell you to ditch the boom... be prepared.

possible handlebars blocking sound since they are up higher?

Pinched wire?

I traced everything cant find a broken wire or anything pinched. I unhooked each speaker, tweeter and then the amp separately and each seem to be working. Funny you say about the bars blocking the sound because thats what the counter guy at HD said too.

Is there anything out there that is plug and play? or that isn't going to cost $1200

Tons of choices in the aftermarket. If your goal is $1200 dollars or less that can get you a great 2 speaker set-up.

I was hoping to not spend $1200 lol. Is there any adjustments on the boom amp?

The Boom amp I had didn't have any. It's all controlled by CAN-bus.

As far as aftermarket keep the thread alive and some of the smarter folks can give you some good quotes.

Just off the top of my head a good two channel amp can be had for $200 or less, a great one for $300 or a little more. A Biketronics line leveler would be about $85 which would allow you to plug your stock head unit into any amp. Then maybe $200 to $300 for a good set of coaxial speakers that would be stronger than the Booms you have now.

I'm not an audio guy I just play one on TV. Others can narrow it right down to the part numbers for you.
