That is a loaded question my friend as there are hundreds of options out there. What year bike, riding style, type of music and budget are you looking at?

A 2009 and I do all three types of riding highway, city, township roads and my music is rock n roll, heavy metal my budget is under 500-600 dollars
First of all if there is no thoughts of adding lowers or rears then a good 2 channel amp will do. IF there is ANY thoughts of adding other than the fairing then get a 4 channel amp up front and save in the long run.
Head unit:
Very popular and very good is the Sony MEX-M70BT. Solid player. Kenwood marine receivers also do well on a bike. You will need these 4 items for the install:
As far as amps go, the cerwin vega b-52 or fosgate tm400x2ad are both solid contenders for a 2 channel amp.
Speakers are ALWAYS personal preference. I suggest going to gatherings and get your ears on some different setups to get an idea of just what YOU like. Some contenders include hertz hcx 165, arc 602's, wdx motos, infinity kappas, (all coax). Component speakers will provide a bit more sq if set up right and pro audio will get you the best sound over all but hard to do with your budget.
Sony M70BT head unit
Sound Ordinance M75-4 amp
Infinity Kappa 62ix 6.5 speakers.
Get it from Crutchfield and you can get all three plus dash kit and amp kit for $470 shipped at the moment. That should provide some nice loud tunes and have the ability to add two more speaker down the road if you wish since its a 4 channel amp. Wont be a record breaker but it will kill factory setup by a good bit with the capability to expand for the cost of another set of speakers and some lower fairing pods.
Plenty of other guys have a lot more bike experience than me, mine is mostly car and boat but for 500 bucks thats what Id buy.
Hi guys, Newbie here an 07 Street Glide. what are your thoughts on this set up with my stock HD head unit? Also thinking of getting an Aquatic Head unit down the road. .

Just my thoughts...
Travelingypse hit the nail on the head. I not a fan of the WDX just not very clean sounding to me, and the Arc's are power hungry. Hertz are good but cost a bit more. Kappa's are loud but not quite as warm but are priced right. Focal's sound good but can be very pricey. Like he said sound is very subjective and this is just my opinion on those speaks.

I think with that kit you will still need an amp wire harness to run the power from the battery to the amp. I would call Paul at 702 Motoring and see if you can do better. He is a good guy and I have done business with him before. Also if it were me I would get the hertz hcx 165 speakers as they have a fuller sound and are better quality.

If Paul doesnt have them, I think you can still get HCX thru Amazon for under $200 shipped.
