Now that I didn't know. For as long as I remember polks have been 4 ohm. Either way, Paul you can run the polks off channel 1/2 and any 2/4 ohm speaker off the rears as long as have the same ohm per set of speakers.

pn4 is definitely doable in the pre rushmore. It's not a loose fit by any stretch. You'll have to unclamp the thick wire bundle above the radio to the gauges etc and move it up and reconnect and a few other things. Now with the stock head unit I'm not sure, the CB is pretty big but with an aftermarket unit it can be done. I have mine in and out frequently as I tinker with setup and tuning etc. Once it's in the first time, getting it in and out to work on things is cake. Just the first attempt when you reroute everything to make it fit and still look good is a bit time consuming.

It's a solid amp also, I've got mine just running the 4 speakers up front and it's loud and clear but I also want more so I'm sure it'll be coming out soon as I learn more about what works and doesn't work in bikes. Whole different ballgame when you're this limited on space and speakers.

A passenger will appreciate lid speakers, but a rider will appreciate fairing lower speakers more when going down the road. Just throwing this out there..

Paul, I had a 2011 Limited Ultra with 6 speakers ----- fairing, tourpak, and lowers. Loved that system. Got hit by a car 2 years ago, slow speed, at an intersection in town, and ended up getting a 2016 Limited Ultra. New stereo also. I have speakers in the fairing, and in the tourpak, but it's amazing how much the speakers in the lowers added. If I didn't have radiators in my lowers, I'd put speakers there again. If you don't wanna get expensive & do saddlebag lids, try something in the lowers. They really DO add alot to the system. I wish I could do lower speakers again.

Lowers are definitely the biggest difference for me. At highway speeds I have no idea tour pack speakers are there but the lowers fill the front with music.

Default Question

So here's a question - can I run another set of 2 ihm speakers in parallel in the PBR300x2 amp? For example could I run a second set of MM651s in speaker pods along with the set in my fairing for now.yntil I get the 4-channel amp?

Also thanks for the great advice here. Already starting to rethink some things. Possibly going with the Stinger amp as I do us FM quite a bit.

I think that will not be good for that little Rockford.

I don’t think most amps want 2-ohm speakers to be bridged or wired in parallel. Generally ok for 4 ohm or 8 ohm, but not 2 ohm. (Bridging and parallel wiring both halve the impedance seen at the amp.)

Years ago I ran 4 speakers (all 4 ohm) in parallel off a PBR300x2 amp w/out issues. This would be a 2 ohm load and RF claims the PBR300x2 is 2 ohm stable. The pair of 4 ohm and pair of 2 ohm would bring the load down to 1.7 ohms. Dunno if the .3 ohm difference would stress the amp..
