Well after reading the suggestions you all have given I'm leaning toward holding off on the bag lid speakers and going forward with speakers in the lower fairings as the next step.
I need some advice about whether I should get the adapters for the lowers or the replacement pods. One sits one top of the glove box in each lower, the other replaces the glove box.
The adapters seem pretty straight-forward, and allow more grill choices, but sit out on top of the lower for a thicker profile. They are less expensive than the replacement type.
The replacement pods look better (to me) but which ones are best? I see Matazu, Advanblack, Hogtunes, etc. Any suggestions? They all seem similar. I would be getting them in Vivid black to matct my lowers.
As to running the speakers in parallel, one set is 2 ohm (2.7 per Polk specs) and one is 4 ohm. I should be able to do it. I'm gonna try it for now and shortly I'll be replacing the amp anyway for a 4-channel.

This is just personal opinion, but I’d get replacements. I currently have the setup that sits on top of the glove box and I just don’t like it that much. Don’t know if it’s how it looks, how it attaches, something, but I’m not a huge fan. I ordered replacement pods this week and I’ll get them painted to match the lowers and replace the pieces that go on top of the glove box.
