Ok.. I've been lurking on here for weeks now after deciding to upgrade my audio. I have a 16 SGS and looking to just upgrade fairing amp and speakers. I've been bouncing between Beymas Coax,Hertz 1650.3 & DD AW's but have also read these might not be ideal for just a 2 speaker setup. Of course I'd like loud with as much low end I can get out of 6.5 fairing speakers. What do you guys recommend? And sorry if this topic has been posted somewhere else already. I'm new to this Internet forum game.
The very first thing you will need for the setup is a bt 355 line leveler for the stock head unit. Without that nothing will work right. As far as your speaker choices, all and good contenders but have some down falls. The beyma coax probably sound the best but wont fit in your fairing. The hertz 1650's are a component setup and the 6.5's should fit in your pods but need a way to mount the tweeters so keep that in mind. The aw's are a mid woofer and have no high end so to sound good they will need a tweeter or horn to complete the sound experience. An amp will make it or break it so be sure you do your homework on those too. Coax and component speakers will need more power to be heard at speed vs. pro audio. Rule of thumb is AT LEAST 100w per channel for those. Also if there is ANY thoughts on adding rear or lower speakers at a later date then get yourself a good 4 channel amp for app 25-35% more than the cost of a 2 channel amp so you don't need to upgrade at a later date.
Out of the speakers you mentioned, I would go with the mlk 1650's as those woofers are what I am currently running with a set of horns. Not as loud as the others but the SQ is superb.
Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the response! I had planned on pairing the DD's with AT28 or BT30. Is there a coax setup that would be better or at least in the same ballpark as that? The "not as loud" comment has me scared of spending that much on the 1650s. I have the line leveler but am trying to narrow down a speaker selection before picking out an amp.

If your only going to do the fairing speaks then you might wanna stick with a good coax and a tweet. DD I believe has
a replacement coming out or they are out for the AWs.
