I’ve had recommendations for several different hidden antennas. Harley, Tune Trapper from Kuryakyn, JM Powerflex, Dakota.
I’m interested in hearing ACTUAL experiences with hidden antennas for those of you who live and ride on the outskirts of town where radio reception is marginal.
How did yours work? How did it compare to the stock whip?
I installed the HD antenna in the fairing (2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic)... and live between Atlanta & Chattanooga on the fringes of stations from both areas. I have a detachable tour pak... so, I installed the HD hidden antenna with a Y-splitter from Amazon so that I could use both antennas when the TP is installed... and only the hidden one with the TP removed.
Reception is better with the TP installed... but reception for the stronger stations is good with only the TP removed and only using the hidden antenna.
Hidden antennas are just this side of useless imho. I have gotten very poor reception no matter the brand. And although I don't live in the heart of a big city, I'm not out in the sticks by any stretch. Ymmv
