I have had a couple of different sets of fairing speakers and in the PA style I like the hertz SV the best. I had a set of the mlk 1650's in the fairing and a set of sv's in the lowers and although the mlk's sounded damn good the lowers drowned them out to the point that blending them with the amp gains and fade just lost a lot of volume. I have tried a couple of different beymas, prv's and still went back to the sv's in the fairing and lowers. I am happy with the sound of those.
I know the sv is louder , how much SQ do you lose compared to the 1650?

It is hard to explain but the overall SQ from the mlk's is a bit more precise. Also it depends on how much power you send each. The sv's have a bit more bottom end, the mlk's will give you a more precise vocals and that I like. Since I posted that I have put a set of ml 1800's in the fairing with the beyma horns and that is what I am currently running. If a budget is there then you cant go wrong with the sv's in the fairing along with a tweeter. They get loud, sound good and don't require a bunch of power. I am running the fairing off the front of a stinger amp and sony hu.

I'm running the mlks now, they sound great was thinking about trying something else, running fairing speakers and b3s only in front stage no lowers.

I just tagged DSMlimited in a post, he had a set of Red Baskets to try. I have them in My tour pack, they say they want them to come in at 150hz, but they are a damn nice speaker and warmer than what I would think of at 150hz.

See what he has to say!

I haven't tried the reds yet. I've been changing speakers as if they were underwear. I haven't decided which tweeter to put with it yet.
After further research and messing around with the tune, I'm staying with the legends for a while. I did try a new pair of the blam relax 6.5s today sounded good but not enough to take the legends out.
[QUOTE=IArider1;18223764]SD 1200.4 pushing 2 8' Red baskets in the lowers and 2 8" Yellow Baskets in the lids. Using a DD dYou being from IA should keep an eye on the Midwest meet n greet info.
