Well as the title says, I started the stereo install today. I removed the outer fairing, headlights, and radio. I still have to remove tank to run the Power Vision and the amp POS and NEG wires to the battery. I am still waiting for some of the parts to trickle in. I have a CV B52 amp and am waiting on the speakers and line leveler yet. I was looking for a place to mount the amp itself and figured I would flip it upside down and mount it under the plate the radio sits on. The only problem with that is, will it stay on there in the sometimes VERY hot summer heat even with 3m tape and velcro? The amp is not very heavy but it will be suspended upside down. The other question I have is the turn on mode for the amp. Turn on mode can be set to REM, DC, or VOX and I am not sure where that should be set. On the + and - block for power and ground, there is a spot for a remote wire. Can that wire be run to the cig lighter wire for switched power? I am sure I will have more questions as I go along and I will chime in when I need some help. Thanks in advance.
You can zip tie the amp under the radio on bracket or cut tabs on headlight and fit it there. Depending on the amp you can fit a small amp on either side of radio where you would take the fuel or oil pressure gauge out.
The cig lighter will work, there is also a connection up by the right turn signal. BT and Harley both make a splitter for like $10 that works great. Turn on should be set to remote.
The amp will fit right on top of the headlight like it was made to go there. I have the micro 4V2 in one bike which is slightly longer and I don't even use velcro or zip ties and it hasn't moved in 3 years. You won't have to cut the headlight tabs off, but will need to relocate the 2 connectors that are attached. Takes 8 seconds if you take a 5 second break.

Depending on the amp whether you need to cut tabs, I personally have a jl 500/4 under radio and 4v2 in right hole behind fuel gauge. Have room for two more amps if wanted under fairing, on top of headlight and hole behind oil pressure gauge.
Thanks guys! I never looked on top of the headlight. I just figured the best place would be under the radio and the lights were in the way so I took em out. I guess I will have to head back down to the shop tomorrow and see if it will fit there. I remember seeing some spade terminals taps where I got the inline fuse that will work for tapping into the cig lighter.
Post 27 in this thread shows it above the headlight. Earlier posts show it under the radio. CV and Diamond audio are owned by the same company, the amps are almost identical in size.
