May be a dumb question but here goes. Are all HD radios 4 channel or do they use two channel and four in the different models?

Sorry about that. I have an 08 Street Glide that I want to add rear speakers to. Just wondering if the radio is a 4 channel or 2.

You will be better off going with an aftermarket HU as the stock one doesn't have any fade control and the SQ from a good aftermarket like kenwood or sony is by far better than the stock HK head unit. You can get a complete aftermarket package for your bike for around $150 including the mounting bracket and wire interface to retain thumb controls. BTW if you don't have an amp, you will need one also.

All of their radios are 4 channels but the rear channels are only active on the Ultras. You would need the dealer to activate the rears on your SG and you would need the pin out numbers to tie into it.

I was apprehensive about changing the HD deck out for an aftermarket one. After I did it I cant believe I didn't do it sooner. So much better quality in sound and Bluetooth capability is so nice. Not near as expensive as you think. At least consider it. I went with a Sony.

I went with the Sony MEX-M70BT. I am pretty sure they have come out with a newer version of the same style deck with white and black display. Very easy to see during the day. Look up the MEX-M100BT. I believe that's the replacement for the 70.
