If you are using the Sony XAV5000 and the Sound Digital 800x4 is there a need for a DSR1 ?

DSP in general?

Depends on ur system.

But either way, rumor has it that the SD 800.4 will soon be rolling out with crossovers!!!

Brother, I would tap the brakes as long as u can and get the SD800 with the crossover *****. U might be able to do pretty damn good with what u have.

If cash is not a huge concern, a DSP is never a bad thing but I would take baby steps and see what ur ears like as u progress with the knobbed SD.
