audio upgrade help
Ok so all installed and working...sounds pretty good. Not gonna lie though for what I spent on all that (close to $1000) I was expecting a little more bang for my buck. Turns out I had hog tunes 5 1/4 upgrades (no amp) in the fairing and tourpack already from previous owner. And the new hertz 6.5 amped sound only slightly better. I also expected more base coming from my lowers (hertz 6.5 subs) and more volume all together. That being said I can hear it just fine at 70 on the freeway way, but thats at full blast. Alll in all not bad but not as good as I was expecting. No distortion though which is a great thing. Im content with it. ...for now. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Secondly...if this setup is not 100% better than the Hogtunes speakers you had then your tuning is off. That setup should pound. The installation is only half of the process. Having an ear to tune it is what will bring it all together.
Maybe you could post where you have everything set on the amp and maybe we could help with adjustments from there.

Exactly that! Let us know. That setup is almost the same as mine with the exception of the fairing speakers. I usually don't get my volume over 2/3 at 70-115. BTW the new M8's has a speed regulator that keeps them at 115 max. Dammit. Also the lower end will get better as the speakers break in.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders

Also a good cheap way to get more volume is to get a taller windshield. I caught a 12" Long Ride shield on sale for about $60 and am well pleased with it. I do realize that is a personal preference thing though.
And that all make complete sense because I didnt even mess with the amp settings. Thats never something I was good at. Back in the day I could install radios amps and systems all day long but when it came to amp adjustments I was lost. Im currently in the middle of fighting the detachable tour pack conversion kit Right now. For the past 3 days. Cant get it to line up for some damn reason . Locking mechanisms keep binding up !! But when I figure that out Ill dive back into the sound system and Ill post some pictures
