One person says oh yeah get the hertz they are great and water won’t bother them and I’m like great I’ll get those then the next person says no hertz are not good and water will mess them up. Then I’m like well crap I don’t wanna waste money , not sure when I’ll be able to do this again. I’m just frustrated. And it’s not just this forum. I’ve been reading a lot and I’m getting no where.

But i do very much appreciate all the help and advice I’m getting from everyone. Guess I was just expecting to be like I have this much money this is what I want and people would be like well this is what you need so go buy it lol .....nothings ever easy
It can be overwhelming say the least. As far as the hcx, I ran them in my fairing for 4 yrs with no problems. I also installed a bunch of sets in other setups ALL with no problems. One of my buddys is still running them for 5 yrs now in the fairing and he has 60K miles on them. As far as running them in a TP, they are directly in the path of water if it rains while riding. Don't get overwhelmed. Get a set for the fairing and if you don't like them or find something better, sell them and get what you like better. Look at it like you are just renting them for a while. LOL

Roger that I understand.

One thing I have to deal with a lot in my line of work is when someone describes a problem or recommends a product it is best to look up the manufacturer's specs myself. I have had folks swear a product would do certain things and the manufacturer and my own testing prove them wrong. If a product listed on the manufacturer's website does not list a function you want it is a good bet it doesn't have it. Also remember everyone's ears are different. What I say sounds warm and clear to me may sound bright and screeching to your ears.

Here is the link to the Hertz speaker you listed for your lowers:
SV 165.1 SPL Midrange
They claim it is water resistant so I would be willing to give it a try if it were me.

Here is a link to the Polk speakers you listed:
MM1 Series 6.5" Coaxial Speakers with Ultra-Marine Certification
They also claim to be water resistant.

Some folks on these boards say they have had good luck with the Stinger amp so if you don't mind gambling on your FM reception that might be the way to go. If you do want to keep as much FM reception as possible the Arc is a proven amp IF you are only going to run four speakers off of it. I can only vouch for the Arc I have never seen or heard the Stinger amp.

You seem to have a good idea of the other parts needed in your selection list. Some folks say "wait for this product" or "wait for that product". There will always be something better around the corner but that doesn't mean it will be better for YOU. A lot of stuff that I have in my bike is definitely oddball if compared to most so I don't recommend it if I don't think someone is looking for the same things as I am.

The Man is dead on. A lot of the stuff I have in my bike I bought off of the Buy/Sell/Trade sub forum here and some of it was used for only about a week before the owner saw a new unicorn run by. With PayPal it is super easy to get a good bit of your money back for stuff that you tried but didn't like.

I think I’m gonna pull the trigger and start chasing that unicorn down the rabbit hole . I’ll start with the hertz hcx165 in my fairing and sv165 in my lowers . I’m most likely going with the stinger amp. And hoping for the best with the FM if it to bad and I find I can’t live without it I’ll upgrade later because I can’t find the arc Moto cheaper then $600 and that’s a little steep for me right now.

That setup will do you justice. At present time I am running the sv's in my lowers and the stinger amp. As stated above, I have no problems with fm reception on the sony HU and stinger amp.
