thanks, I thought that was the type of "velcro" you were referring to. I have used that before. It does make a rather reassuring click when you press it together.
Just for clarification, that is not a BT68 in your pic. The BT68 fits snug against the outer edges of the opening for the HU. Biketronics has 3 different covers.

You are correct .its the bt66. From what I gathered the 68 was used when you had the chrome radio trim. Which is why I ordered the 66.
Get the BT68. It protrudes just a tad further to accommodate the chrome trim but will work great whether you have the trim or not. It has a silicone seal all the way around and I have yet to see one fall out.
Good info Shannon, wish I’d known that before . BT made it sound like the 66 was the only one I could use.
still happy , Little moding and good to go.
They'll also tell you that they won't guarantee fitment with other HU mounts but I've used the 68 with a Metra, Scosche, and a Hawg Wired mount and it works flawlessly with all of them.

Man that's strange. I've been using mine for 5yrs or better and it's never attempted to fall off. It's even a pain for me to take it off. Makes me wonder if the inner fairing molding at the HD plants aren't exactly the same from every mold.
I will add that my inner is painted so not sure how much difference that may make however I never had issues with the cover before paint.
Mine was a pain to take off in the beginning but it eventually got to where it would slide on and off without much effort. Thats when the problems started and I ended up just leaving it off.

Had the painted inner fairing as well.
Was yours the BT68? I'm not saying it can't but I've never seen one fail. I suppose if the seal hardened up over the years it's possible.
