When they first came out, they were a great bang for the buck but prices went up do to demand like the stinger amps and most other things that get "hot" demand. I want to get my ears on a set of the new mmats pa coax as their 6x9 pa series sound damn good and loud. Some of the best SQ are hertz mk series speakers but keep in mind that they are not as loud as others but the SQ makes up for that. I am currently running them with a set of beyma ast 50 horns in parallel off the front channels of a stinger and very happy with that sound.
Not to say u cant tame the CX but anything below 100 was clearly out of its wheelhouse.
Would be a solid performer in the lowers if properly tamed and complimented.

Good to know. Now I don't need to try them out for a fairing alternative. Thanks for the info.
I'm currently running the motos in the fairing only in an 07 Road Glide. When I got them almost a year ago, they were considered a warmer alternative to the BT 7.1 speakers with much higher sensitivity (louder). I have no problems hearing them at 3/4 volume at 80+ mph. The highs can be a bit much at low speeds or parked at high volume, but easily managed by turning them down a bit. I'm very satisfied with them stand alone. (Not an easy thing for 2 speakers only.) That said, I am in the process of adding a set of Hertz SVs on their own amp in a set of lowers to balance them out and hopefully add a bit more volume at higher speeds at lower volume setting, working the amps less. I can't imagine a better set of fairing only 6.5s for the price I paid for 2 speakers and a lower budget amp.
