Hey guys, been reading through a bunch of previous posts but could still use some guidance. I have a 2016 street glide. I am going to upgrade the HU to the Sony xav5000, for speakers I just want to do the fairing speakers for now. I want to be able to add saddle bag speakers later on. For now Im looking at db wdx6moto 6.5 coax. What I need is some guidance on an amplifier. What would be a good amplifier to push those speakers and some 6x9s down the road? Im also up to suggestions on speakers as well.
Thanks
I have the standard 4.3 or whatever it is headunit. And I like the options that the Sony offers, plus Ive been reading that the output of the OEM hu is crap and I dont want to have to flash my stock head unit
I was looking at the stinger but wasnt positive if that would be the right route to go. Will the db motos be a good choice for this setup or are they going to be too bright?
I have the DB Motos and they are bright. I have a EQ and it is set at a frown. They sound good but I know there are better choices out there.
yea thats what I am worried about. I was also looking at the dd dx6.5. Someone on facebook suggested the cadence x pro 6.5 but I cant find anything about them
Are you going to just run the fairing only or add lowers/lids? As far as the motos go, yea the highs can be ear piercing but with the sony, they can be tamed. The plus to those speakers are they get loud as hell, are waterproof and very efficient. The downfall is they can have harsh highs and are now $$ for what you get. When they first came out, they were a great bang for the buck but prices went up do to demand like the stinger amps and most other things that get "hot" demand. I want to get my ears on a set of the new mmats pa coax as their 6x9 pa series sound damn good and loud. Some of the best SQ are hertz mk series speakers but keep in mind that they are not as loud as others but the SQ makes up for that. I am currently running them with a set of beyma ast 50 horns in parallel off the front channels of a stinger and very happy with that sound.
