Looking into stepping into the ProAudio game, not for competition, but for crisp & enjoyment over 80. Currently my local shop is considering setting up (6) PRV200MR w/ a set of PRV tweeters in the fairing & 10in PRV300FT in the bags. They also recommended a RF DSR & (2) RF T400 amps. What's yall take on this?
Those PRV are the lowest entry level out there. I would strongly consider a better speaker. Also that amps isn't enough to power 6.5, horns and 10's. What shop is it? I have some shops in NJ that I work with that I can refer you to.
The (2) T400 wont do....This is exactly why I'm asking on here! I wont mention the shop name, but they are located in NJ. Not sure if it matters, but I planned to use PRV TW400ti in the fairing, not horns.
My bad, didn't see the TWO RF amps. Yeah that should suffice, but I still would do it a little differently. With a better 6.5' and tuned properly it should sound pretty good.
I was sponsored by PRV last year, their HQ’s is down the street from me. The MR500 is their best 6.5. Honestly if the price is right that’s not a bad set up. I strongly prefer JL Audio over Fosgate amps. They’re not bad, just don’t over pay for that set up.
Thanks much...I will look into the cost factor of (6) MR500, along w/ (2) PRV tweeters & 10FR300 in the bags.
PM Haze and see who he works with in NJ and go see them. Pro Audio is NOT something you want to let the local shop do unless you want to do it multiple times.
