Are the DD AW 6.5" and AT28 tweeters still a good combo? Im thinking about doing these with the JL 400/4 amp. If, I go with speaker lids down the road.... what amp should I buy now? I have a 2018 SGS. Another question, where do you guys buy your DD speakers? Is there any other line leveler out there that works or only BT? Oh, I'm staying with the Boom HU as well.
There are a couple guys on the forum that can sell you the DD Audio but, I do not think DD is making the AT28 anymore. I have both the AW/AT set up and it does sound great but, I think if you want to go that route you might need to look for used AT28s.
That's what I want is a little more punch than what I'm getting now. The tweeters don't matter which ones really. I wasn't sure which ones. I got the at28 from old posts on the forum when I googled it lol.

I ran the AW/JL combo last year with bt30 tweeters and a BT355, I really liked the sound. As stated, DD has discontinued some of those items. I would reach out to Babyboy, he seems to have a pretty good idea of whats available from DD.
I later upgraded the xd400/4 to the 600/6 to get the 2 extra channels but that requires a jm amp tray to fit. The XD amps are not for everyone due to their size to watts ratio but I think the JL sound is second to none.If you run the AW in the pods you will need to do some minor mods for clearance and port the pods. If you add lids you will probably need to add a second amp to get the most out of them.

I bored a 2" hole in each of mine. Fill the pods with polyfill also. You can get it at Walmart or most craft stores. Don't pack it full, but enough to help with resonance.
