Nothing like waiting till crunch time. The revamp starts with less than a month before the ES trip. Still waiting on a few pieces, but I figured I'd get a head start. Finish this up and a new set of rubber, I'll be good to go.
Wish me luck fellas.

Good luck with those GZ coax. I have heard them a few times and my ears NO LIKEY.
Going from your HCX to those GZ I dont think you will like them to much screaming at you.
Very tight speaker with ZERO to very little midbass if any.

I don't think I'll like them either. A buddy of mine is a GZ dealer now and gave them to me, to try. If I don't like them, give them back and he'll give me something else to try. Thinking maybe the yellow baskets, or none, we'll see.
The brackets sure makes it easy to try stuff. I really don't know why I was such a hard head about using them. I've owned them for over a year. Hindsight really is 20/20.

If you are looking for a speaker that is close to the HCX the yellow basket will fill that spot. The only down fall is you will need some highs to go with those. The red baskets dont dig as deep as the yellow but play a wider range in the upper frequencies.
You got this man, like 32 days still haha. I have to run new wire to two speakers because on revamp 37 I didn’t have any new so I cobbled some stuff together and it doesn’t look the best. Other than that, I’m finally done for the year.........
