Default BT Bracket Work Around

Now I have two broken standoffs and can't get the Fairing reattached to the bike. The exterior standoff post is 3/4" long. Rather than waiting for new hardware from BT, could I use the original screw and just put in a 3/4" aluminum spacer to firm up the attachment point?

Something like this.

I jumped ahead of myself and bought some I" x1" x1/4' nylon spacers. I figure it's worth a $1 gamble. I need to go through and pull out unneeded wiring. Can I cut out the old speaker plugs? I'm using a Sony HU.

So I'm going to take the good advise I'm given and wait. I as retracing my step and I figured out the bolt break as my fault. I used the stock bolt instead of the smaller provided bolt, creating way to much toque on the standoff bolts. I also noticed this problem. The break side support sits right up against the inner Fairing, allowing easy attachment to the outer Fairing. The clutch side hangs off about half an inch, making the bolt too short to attach to the outer Fairing hole. I've attached photos. Any help is appreciated.

Brother, loosen all the bolts from the brackets and then place the long bolts that are on the outside and upwards thru the inner fairing then into the BT Bracket Metal. Then resecure the bracket bolts using that as ur reference. Get the replacement stand-offs, use all the supplied hardware then install the fairing with a screw driver. U should be able to finger tighten up to the last quarter turn.
Sounds like u don't have the BT brackets aligned properly.

Obviously, I am not questioning your knowledge. I just can't see how it could be misaligned. The holes are all predrilled to match. There didn't seem to be any oblong holes to allow for adjustment.
