I know I've asked this before but never got any replies (I think, I take a lot of meds). Now that I have my install done with the Sony HU and BT brackets, what wires can I cut and get rid of? I've got such a jumbled mess of wires, it's causing a bulge up near the windshield. Pretty sure this is also what caused problems in getting the fairing holes to line up. I'm going to trim the power and ground to a minimum, but what else can go? Old speaker connection plugs? I need to thin this mess out.
By the looks of ot I would say the amp is your issue. I would not cut off any wires that are stock. They do not look like they are the problem. You need to clean up the wiring you added, Looks like that may be hitting the back of the headlight.
You defiantly got a lot going on, but I do not see a problem with the factory wiring. You could get some type of putty and run it along the edge of the amp, place the outer fairing on and see if the amp is the issue.
That was my first thought too. However, the previous 2 amp setup hung over about an inch further. That's not to say that this is still the problem, but it seems smaller than others I've seen.

No reason to be cutting factory wiring. That amp is huge and probably
hitting get the putty out like it was said above.
Put your outer fairing on, turn the bars all the way to the left and look up through the bottom behind the head light.
I butchered my harness back in 2014 when I did my install, no plug and play units at that time. I have sense then replaced it.
Just giving some suggestions. My BT amp setup sticks out no further than the head unit.
Head light assembly with the bucket is only 4 screws take it out as 1 piece so you do not have to adjust your light beams. Pull that out, put on outer fairing and see where everything sets and what may be causing the issue.
