So I'm taking a different perspective on this @Juice . Since I a simultaneously reworking my new commuter truck, I could buy the Picasso 1000. I bought a flat Rushmore tray off eBay, which is 9" long. I can do one of two things...mount with double sided tape or industrial Velcro or buy a piece of aluminum and fav up an 11" tray to fit between the brackets. That's plenty of power and the wires are side mounted. Then I can use this Rubicon to power the new truck Mmats.
I would agree with the others, the power wires can be pushed back into the frame backbone & speaker wires tied up - but your amp looks like it's hitting the fairing - are you using an amp tray as it almost seems as if it's just laying on the head unit?
I would have to say that the front top corners of the amp are against the outer fairing. If you are using the stock amp bracket it is possibly raising up the front of the amp causing the issues. The SS PN4 1000D will have the same issue on the stock amp tray. Your best and easiest way to get around the problem is with a JM amp tray as tha amp tray ties the inner fairing (behind the guages), speaker brackets(pods) and the rest of the fairing structure together.
I have a JL HD600/4 (which is even larger than the 2 amps you mentioned)stuffed in my fairing without anything touching the outer fairing
