They will be powered by the Rockford fosgate prime R1-HD2 140 watt 2 channel....my front I run 6.5 crescendo powered by alpine
You are going to be hard pressed to find any 8s that will do well with the amount of power that amp will feed them. It is only rated at 70 X 2 at 2 ohms.

70 Watts x 2 @ 2-Ohm is what I found on the RF site. Not sure anyone is going to recommend running 8s with 75 watts. RF has some awesome stuff and has come light years recently with some stuff that works well in the motorsports industry. Do not want to rain on your parade, and more so, don't want you to be unhappy with the outcome of your investment, but I think you will end up short in the power department to efficiently, or successful run 8s in your lids. There are a lot smarter and more experienced guys than me here, so we will wait for a little more input from others.

Budget and power availability will be a determining factor on a recommended speaker. The amp you are wanting to use for the lids is alot on the light side of power.
