It appears my DD audio six by nines are completely blown out. This seems kind of odd to me has 1 why would they both blow out at the same time and too usually if I've had a speaker blow it makes some type of noise. these are just completely dead. They are powered by a bridged JL audio IMAX 280 / 4 amp. Everything is wired correctly and there was no distortion. Any ideas? I don't want replace speakers just to have them blow out again. Kind of a bummer right before the meet and greet...
I would check to see if you have amp outputs. That is strange to be both speakers at the same time. Do you have another set to test. If new speakers are needed, look at Mmatts PA690CX. I heard TG's, sound great for a reasonable price.
I'm willing to bet good money that if you go to the M&G, not only will someone have some replacement parts for you, they will get you tuned up as well so you don't let any more smoke out.

I was wanting to ride there, not bring the trailer....lol
I hooked up the amp to working speakers (1 channel) -- it worked fine. I hooked up the speakers to a working amp with a new wire - not a sound from either. It seems very odd to me. Going to get a 9v batter tonight to double check the dead speaks...

Pop the hood and w the 9v check the speakers from the beginning of the wires leading back towards the lids. Just no telling what could have happened to the wire that runs under the tank & seat. Connections, chafing, pinched, etc....
It's just damn strange that both speakers blowed up at the same time. Not real common unless the tune was really gonna set them up for failure but even then I don't think that amp has the nads to properly puff the magic smoke out of them suckers.
