Default Thinking about upgrading front system

Have a 2014 Limited that I removed the tour pak on. Rarely run with the tour pak.

I would like to upgrade the sound. Stock is decent but I would like it louder and maybe a little more thump. (I know I wont get much out of front speakers but I think anything would be better than stock)

If Im on a limited budget and my audio wiring experience is also limited, what options do I have?

Thanks.

What do you consider a "limited budget"?

We can walk you through wiring a amp and speakers.

What kinda music do you listen too. Keep ideal expectation, as a 6.5 is really not a "thumping speaker size".

Limited would be < $500 or around that.

I listen to Rock and Metal.

Yeah and I understand I wont get a bunch of thump from a 6.5. Just feel like Im gonna blow these stock speakers everytime I try to turn it up to hear.

Thanks Juice.

The other question is, are you sure about only the fairing speakers or will rear, lids, lowers come into play later?

500 will be cutting it close.

Good question. Currently when I have the tour pak on, the rear speakers are pretty much worthless at speed.

6X9's in the lids MAY become of interest later but at this point I dont think so.

Im not into winning any audio competitions and I dont need to hear my bike while I am 200ft away from it, just want better sound quality and volume while Im riding.

I was exactly right where you are now a year ago. After some great advice from guys here, I decided on the SS pn4 520 amp and infinity kappas in the front fairing. I do wish I'd sprung the extra 20 bucks for the SS 1000 watt amp, but right now I"m versy seriously contemplating speakers in my lids.

The amp and kappas were right at 200 bucks. I think I paid around 250 for install and flash, so still below 500 and just this 2 speaker set up sounds great! But like Juice says, it lacks some bass..hence the reason I'm thinking of some rear speakers.

The setup I mention will get you exactly this. Better louder sound to hear while cruising.....still within budget and will accommodate adding 2 more speakers if you want.

You will need;
bt355 line leveler 80.00
Look at the MMats cx601's 200.00
NVX VADM4 amp, maybe even bridged! 170.00
Amp install kit 8 gauge wire. 50.00

500.00

Trying to do my research here on what you stated. Looks like the line leveler is to help out with distortion?
The MMats I assume at the 6.5 speakers - Had trouble google searching them
The 400W Amp - what does it mean to be "Bridged"

Thank you Juice

head and shoulders above the kappa.

Bridged? see below article. Note!, not all amps can be bridged.
https://www.crutchfield.com/S-bcOLfw...ge-an-amp.html

below are the specs for the VADM4
  • 4 ohms: 75 watts x 4 chan.
  • 2 ohms: 100 watts x 4 chan.
  • Bridged, 4 ohms: 200 watts x 2 chan.
