Increased distortion ?
Resently added a DD dsi-2 to my system, before adding I could go to 48 out of 50 on radio before reading distortion on my dd-1, now after adding dsi-2 I can only go to 39 of 50 on the radio before the dd-1 reads distortion why would that be?
I just participated in that audio webinar and am gonna guess that this is all about the input volts going into that amp and how the DSI-2 is impacting them. I just switched from the ARC to the DSI to get a couple more channels and my DD1 tradings were an entirely different animal.

Thanks T. I was thinking along those lines but having a hard time wrapping my head around it. Maybe the dsi messing with the preout volts from the radio before sending it on to the amp.

Just so my cave man brain is understanding ur scenario, with all the amp gains down, 1000hz test tone, DSI-2 all set a zero, ur HU shows dirty on the DD1 at low 30s vs 40?

Are you reading that distortion before or after the amp?
You are going to have to redo our gains. That dsi-2 outputs an additional 5 volts(I think) to your amp. What I do is set the master db on the dsi-2 to -5 and go from there. On my other channels I have some turned down because a touch of the gain **** sky rockets the voltage on the amp.

Sony radio all zeroed out flat, dsi all flat except for crossovers are set, reading is from rca plugged into the output from dsi with 1000 hz tone rca plugged into dd1, shows starting to distort at 39, when directly plugged into rca fro radio shows no distortion till 49 on scale of 50. This was with mater volume slide at -6db

Through the master output on DSI-2 you can manage the output voltage from the DSP. Worse case measure the output so you know how high or low you want to set it at so you can best set your gains.
