Bluetooth module
I have a quick question I want to add Bluetooth to my stock HK head unit. I have a amp and set off speakers installed, if I was to add a Bluetooth module to the amp like the fusion one, and connect my phone to it will I be able to control the volume with the handlebar controls or will the only way to control volume is with the Bluetooth connected device ie iPhone.
You should be able to adjust the volume of the head unit independently of the bluetooth module. For example if you adjust the volume on your phone paired to the bluetooth module you should still be able to run the "master" volume of the head unit up and down with the thumb controls.
If you want a solution that allows you to see the track information on the head unit and skip forward and back with the thumb controls a lot of us have had good luck with the Metra SaddleTramp bluetooth module made specifically for the Harley HK head units. I stream all sorts of stuff through it and it works fine. The limiting factor seems to be the sound quality of the device you pair it to. My Samsung phone just doesn't sound all that great. It doesn't matter if I plug it into the AUX port directly or use Bluetooth. Since I can see the info and skip forward and back through Bluetooth I usually use that.

Yeah that’s kinda what I was thinking but didn’t know if that Bluetooth module basically bypassed the whole HK radio since that would be the input on the amp. That metra system looks nice but way expensive, I would just change head units, but I would see why someone would want it to keep cb and talk back and forth
