Has anyone had any experience with putting 7 x 10s as a replacement? What was involved? Were you able to use the stock grill and cutout? What brand did you use?
Pics would be awesome as well if anyone ahs any?
As far as brand of 7x10s, I've seen good things about Focal as well as GZ. Any thoughts there?

To start off your stock speakers are 5x7. So in order to install the 7x10 you will need a 5x7 to 6x9 adapter and then another adapter to go from 6x9 to 7x10.
With all those spacers stacked together the is a potential for water leaks into the bag along with the speaker hanging lower into the bag which may cause interference when opening or closing the lid.
If you know a good machinist or someone with a 3D printer you maybe able to have a 5x7 to 7x10 adapter.
You maybe better off just bitting the bullet and getting some 6x9 lids and have them painted to match.
I talked to a rep at Crutchfield's and they had no clue.
I was thinking the same thing as Babyboy suggested....hmmm...it could be like the movie "Conception' version of speakers...an adapter within an adapter!!! lol
That being said, some descriptions of both Focal and GZ 7x10s mention fitting into 6x9 spots.
Thanks for chiming in.
I've looked everywhere on the net....yet to find one person who's even actually installed 7x10s with pics of the install.
I'm assuming you know that you will need to completely revamp the rest of the system to support said 7X10's right?
One thing tends to lead to another... 3rd set 6.5s, BT Liner Levelers to RF DSR-1, 2nd amp and going for my 4th change in the rear! But I have had the bike just over 3 years. I failed in buy one and done...in other parts but audio and seats have been the worst...

Thanks so much...guys. Please keep the advice coming.
I do know; however, that you can't just mix and match components ***** nilly. I was just being a clown.
When it's all said and done, I'll be changing out everything but the HU.
Ive used the ground zeros 7x10s in 6x9 lids. They include an adapter. They kick butt with some power but with the adapter they do drop down a good 1/2.
