Rockford amp
Hi to all
Thought this would be a good place to start to get some help on what I want to do
I have a 2018 road glide ultra and want to install a few things all at once so here is my questions
Watnt to install a HD14U-STAGE2 system along with the new Sony xav ax7000 head unit when it comes out later this month will I be needing the Metra 95 9700 housing system and any other product besides the flash for the Rockford system to make the system sound great, didn't know about any line levers or other wiring to make sure my handle bar controls still work I heard I'll lose my info from the controls but for a better sound, lose a little to get much more
dont know if I have enough info which I probably dont but then again I put it here for help
thanks for any info

Also keep in mind that the thumb controls will be very limited and in many cases will be volume and song next and previous. No music library searches or map zoom etc..... The phone becomes the platform vs the Boom being the platform aka the Sony is just an interface with the exception of a few isolated things like EQ, FM, etc....
Regarding the sound quality improvements, u will definitely hear improvements parked but rolling down the road, don't hold your breath due the the environmental conditions associated w riding.
Make sure u get a H2O protective cover for the HU.
The maps are far superior to Boom but again, no thumb controls.
Last but not least, u will not need a flash or BT355 as the goes away with the Boom.
As you stated there is some give and take. I have the same Alpine HU on my sled that is in my cage thus the transition was a very simple one for me and knew what I was getting into.
30 minute instal as I purchased a HD retrofitted & plug and play GU.
