I have a buddy with the Hog-tune 6x9 lids and has broken them 3-4 times. They are not as good as they were in the pre-rushmore bikes. They did a no charge swap the first 2 times now they want money for the inferior grill and mount.

So far mine have been okay. Pre Rushmore. Did have to drill through to secure bigger speaker. As factory self tapping screws pulled out. At least speaker just fell into bag.
I bought because of price (Canadian dollar) by the time painted.
Anyone use the Bad Dad lids? Im gonna replace my Hogtune lids and like the looks of the Bad Dad. Just havent seen anybody mention them.
BadDad stuff is nice, and you pay for it too. Just stay with the bigger names, some of the Ebay crap is not very good and will cost more for body work and prep than the part cost.

I've had the same experience with the HT lids. Maybe they work well with HT speakers, but as far as aftermarket speakers go HT could give a few more important tips. Like making sure that the screws are going to work with the speaker you select. I ended up buying longer screws because the flange on the 6x9s I used is thicker than the HT screws could handle.
I have 2014 HT Lids..
