Default Looking for advice on audio setup

What's up! I'm new to the forum but there's tons of useful information that I reference for my bike as well. I have a 2018 Road Glide and tossed out the factory head unit and went with the Sony 5000, Hertz Mille 6.5 in the fairing, Hertz Mille 6x9's in the bag lids two per lid. DSR1, all powered by Sound Digital 800x4. 4 ohm. The chart in the previous thread was very useful information because finding a permanent tune seems impossible!! I'm looking to add some bass but the argument in my brain is will I get a cleaner bottom with 4 8" woofers 2 per bag? or a pair of 10" woofers 1 per bag powered by a Sound Digital 1200? OR start all over in another direction? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

So u have the dual 6x9 lids from fairing factory? If so, u will not get the deep bass u are looking for with either the 8's or the 10's. Those lids would allow to much air to escape from the bags for it to sound good. Now, even if u only had a single 6x9 in each lid, four 8's or two 10's in the bags will absolutely cancel out the lower frequencies of the 6x9's. Best bet is to either get rid of the dual 6x9 lids, or go with a single 6x9 lid and put a 6.5 closed back or compression driver in the lid. Or get the insane asylum dual 6.5 lids and seal the bags.

Sponger has some very good points. You're basically painted in a corner with your current setup. That's why all the gurus here talk about planning so much. You've got a large about of money in this thing and probably not the greatest sound. Even though you have good components.

So if I go with a single 6x9 lid what direction would you recommend from there, I can always build from what I have and go from there. I would like to have a solid build ultimately, I should've asked a ton of questions first but I'm in too deep now, so any suggestions towards the right direction I'm open to.

Are you installing this yourself?

No, my buddy has a shop. I just like to have an idea as to what goes on my bike and the sound I'm looking for.

I asked because you aren't far from Jefe' Customs and I know he would get you where you want to be.
The standard recipe for pro audio is PRV, GZ, mmats, Hertz, or a few other brands. PA 6.5s in the fairing. Horns in the fairing. 10s in the bag with Jefe' rings. Then compression drivers or sealed back 6.5s in the lids. Your basic 6 speaker light weight. Also a DSP to tune it.
Buddy installs can be a nightmare if your buddy is a car audio installer. The installs aren't the same.

Very true! I'll look into connecting with Jefe customs and accomplishing that sound I'm after. Thanks for the input!
