Replacement speakers with /without amp
I've spent the last several days reading through the threads and haven't found an answer to my question. I have 14 ultra classic with factory speakers and 6.5 HU. the speakers in the tour pack are blown. I'm looking at replacing them and the fairing speakers with MMats 601 cx . My question is do I have to use an amp or will the factory HU power them. I.m trying to stay under $750 total and don't want to mess with have to flash the HU, if i have to add an amp. I'm not looking for high end just decent sound.
Thanks in advance

Ur really gonna need an amp brother. No way around it if u want any improvement in your audio.
U won't need a flash with the following:
BT355 Line Leveler
Amp install kit
2 x Mmats 601cz
2 x TP budget drop in speakers
Stinger 700 amp
Install accessories like Velcro, speaker leads, sealer wire, etc.
U can get away with just the BT355 w/o the Breakout harness as long as u don't care about fade.
Price that stuff up and I'm thinking ur gonna be in a good place regarding budget.

Just the way it used to be here on the Forum.
Answers directly related to the question.
Keeping in mind that so many guys just want a simple audio upgrade from stock.
Hats off to Mr T
The Mmats you are looking at are a huge improvement. Pretty much any speaker you look at will need an amp.
The system that "T" has recommended is about as good a it gets in your budget range.
Nobody wants to spend any more than we absolutely have to, but that is a damn good start to a great sounding bike in your budget.
If you can stretch that budget a little more, you can maybe add in that second set of Mmats, or run a set of budget speakers in the tour pack for now and hopefully you can buy yourself a second set of Mmats for yourself on your birthday. Keep an eye on the for sale ads here, maybe you can snag a deal on a used piece here and there to pick it all up within your budget.

Here is an option for a drop in tour pack. Not the best. Also not the worst. Will provide decent fill from the pods without having to do any modifications or adding of spacers. Will also play nice with the stingers.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the suggestions.
What would recommend for a Amp Install Kit?
And when it come to installation, do I just connect new speakers to the existing factory wiring?
